- Do not allow anyone other than
designated and trained operators to operate the bailer.
- Keep material in baler dry. Added
water weight will only reduce the amount that can be
transported at once.
- Do not place any aerosol or
otherwise pressurized devices in a baler. Death, injury,
or damage can and will occur.
- Break open cardboard boxes for
most efficient baling.
- Spread material to be baled evenly
for best compacting action.
- Put a piece of cardboard on top
and bottom of the bale before tying to prevent loss of
waste material. Typically this is done by putting one
sheet on the bottom before baling, and one on top before
tying the wires.
- Bale all salable materials in
homogenous bundles to ensure the maximum sale price of
these materials. Recyclers don’t want to sort your
waste.
- Prevent plastic and
paper/cardboard from mixing in bales. If not, a recycler
will have to sort your waste.
- Tie the bales as tight as possible
to prevent expanding in transport or storage.
- Always follow each and every
manufacturer recommendation. Death, injury, or damage
can result from mis-use of any machine. Keep in mind
these machines are under pressure and are powered by
industrial voltage. Perform maintenance as recommended.
